Gifta POPIA Notice

1. How Gifta Uses Personal Information

Gifta processes personal information to:

  • create and manage accounts;
  • enable Dreamboard creation and administration;
  • support communications and platform operations;
  • maintain platform security and prevent fraud;
  • support payout-related workflows; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

2. Categories Of Personal Information

Gifta may process:

  • identity and contact information;
  • Dreamboard information;
  • child or recipient information supplied by a host;
  • payout and transaction-related information;
  • communications and support records; and
  • technical, usage, and device information.

3. Sources Of Information

Gifta may collect personal information:

  • directly from you;
  • from other users who submit your information in connection with a Dreamboard;
  • from identity, communications, hosting, analytics, fraud, or support providers; and
  • from payment or payout partners where those features are enabled.

4. Whether Supply Is Voluntary Or Mandatory

Some information is optional. Some is mandatory because without it Gifta may not be able to:

  • register or maintain your account;
  • create or administer a Dreamboard;
  • support payout operations;
  • verify a security, fraud, or compliance issue; or
  • comply with legal requirements.

5. Recipients Of Personal Information

Gifta may disclose personal information to:

  • identity and authentication providers;
  • hosting, analytics, communications, and support providers;
  • legal and professional advisers;
  • regulators, courts, or competent authorities where required by law; and
  • payment, fraud, or payout providers where those features are enabled.

6. Cross-Border Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred outside South Africa where Gifta uses international service providers or partners. Gifta will take reasonable steps to ensure that such transfers are lawful and appropriately protected.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion where lawful, objection to certain processing, withdrawal of consent where applicable, and objection to direct marketing.

8. Complaints

If you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully, you may contact Gifta first at ryan@gifta.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator.
